A beautiful Steamboat Springs wedding day at Pearl Lake & Steamboat Lake with canoeing, dogs, and hiking, and rooftop brewery celebrations?
Count me so in.
Pearl Lake is an absolutely stunning Colorado wedding location, and certainly an ideal wedding venue for an intimate wedding or elopement.
This couple opted for a sunrise ceremony here which helped ensure they had privacy and seclusion. Watching the sun come up over the ridge while they exchanged vows on the shoreline was a beautiful sight to see.
This is a wonderful location for any outdoor-loving couple because of the surrounding hiking trails, kayak + canoe rentals, picnic tables, and private campsites.
Can you envision yourself getting married at Pearl Lake or Steamboat Lake? Contact Colorado Parks & Wildlife for the most updated wedding permit information. It’s surprisingly affordable!
Ok, this is definitely one of my new favorite locations for wedding photos in Colorado! I’ll never forget pulling up on a gravel road here for the first time at sunrise and witnessing the steam come off the still lake. It’s a tranquil and beautiful area of wilderness.
Did you know that in Colorado there is no witness or officiant required? That means, in most counties, you can actually have your dog witness your marriage license with a paw print! It always makes for the best photography opportunities, too. You can even purchase paw-safe ink pads online!
It’s the Just Married sign on the back of the canoe for me. Shoutout to the bride’s sister for that fun little surprise!!
We love Steamboat Lake for photos because of the vast + spacious shores. It also offers amazing mountain views (including Hahn’s Peak) and beach-like shorelines.
After our time exploring Pearl Lake, we took a short 5 minute drive to Steamboat Lake for some wedding portraits. This was an especially beautiful spot to take in more mountain views while letting the dogs cool off in the water.
This couple stayed at Glen Eden Resort (also a wonderful wedding venue for micro weddings or elopements!). It’s located near Clark, Colorado and is situated on a beautiful riverside property. They have a swing set, large fire ring, and lovely ceremony site on the water.
Their property and cute red cabins made for a few fun quick portraits as we passed through.
Want to know one of the most beautiful things about an intentionally planned intimate wedding or elopement? You generally have the time and ability to do more of what makes you happy. Even if that means spontaneously stopping at a local dive bar for a boozy milkshake like these two did!
Leaving room for spontaneity on your day is a sure way to make core memories. Additionally, it makes for an entertaining wedding story that you’ll tell (and retell) for the rest of your lives.
