Lily Lake Dock Wedding in Rocky Mountain National Park

Lily Lake Dock wedding, anyone? This is one of my favorite and more easily-accessible wedding ceremony sites here in Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP)!

It’s especially lovely first thing in the morning at sunrise before the crowds. Or, if you’re anything like this couple, you can wait out a quick rainstorm and get the lake all to yourselves at sunset! More on that below.

Don’t forget to check out my full Lily Lake Wedding Guide which includes a video tour of all 3 wedding sites at Lily Lake.

The Stanley Hotel Wedding Day Start

The Stanley Hotel is an iconic hotel here in Estes Park. It’s known for being Stephen King’s inspiration for The Shining and filming of Dumb and Dumber. It’s a place full of history and character.

It sits perched in front of Lumpy Ridge, and can be easily seen from many places in town! It’s also a very spot for weddings, or for couples to spend their honeymoon!

Learn more about other locations and things to do here in town in this Estes Park Wedding & Elopement Guide.

Rocky Mountain National Park Wedding Photos

The best part about getting married in Estes Park or Rocky Mountain National Park? You can go anywhere in the park for photos before or after your ceremony!

As an Estes Park local, I have a few favorite spots up my sleeve that I share exclusively with my booked couples! And that’s some of the places we wandered in the National Park, taking photos along the way.

Lily Lake Dock Wedding Ceremony at Sunset

And then! The moment they had been waiting for, their Lily Lake dock wedding ceremony.

Just as we arrived at Lily Lake, a summer rainstorm rolled through. Instead of stressing, the couple cozied up in the car, laughing and waiting it out. When the skies started to clear, we looked at each other and said, “Should we go for it?” Everyone agreed.

It couldn’t have been more perfect.

Why? Because the storm gave us the most magical gift: solitude.

A usually busy spot suddenly cleared out, and the couple had the entire lake to themselves… and that’s what we call wedding day magic!
