Colorado Winter Wedding

Dreaming of a Colorado winter wedding? Breckenridge, Colorado is a popular destination, and especially beautiful for winter weddings and elopements because there’s a dependable amount of snow through most of the winter months, incredible mountain views, and it’s a location that’s not too far from Denver International Airport.

And you don’t just have to love snow sports to enjoy Breckenridge! In addition, this town has lovely spas, downtown shops, and delicious restaurants. There’s a little something for every taste.

Pro Tip: Knowing that winter weather in Colorado also comes with cold temperatures, and can often be windy, it’s important to plan indoor breaks during your wedding day! On this day, we made the absolute most of the stunning winter scenery, while also leaving for breaks to get warm and cozy. Like a scenic train ride!

You’ve seen plenty of adventurous sunrise missions here, but that’s not the only way to start your day—I promise. Some couples prefer a slower start, like L & M.

Their morning began at a cozy lodge overlooking Breckenridge, Colorado, savoring quiet moments together (with their pup, of course). Just before slipping into her wedding dress, L finished the last lines of her vows while M waited in the lobby, peering out the window at the snowy November views.

When it’s just the two of you and your dog, there’s so much freedom to shape the day your way. On this day, we wandered until they found the perfect spot to say their vows, explored the local scenery, and ended with a scenic train ride through the mountains.

Just as the sun was dipping down behind the mountains, causing the temperatures to drop, it became time to find a place to warm up.

What could be more unique and memorable than a scenic train ride on your wedding day?!

The Georgetown Loop Scenic Train will treat you to a scenic ride from a whole new vantage point! It’s a slow and relaxing loop through the mountains, and if you’re luck, you may even spot some wildlife!

This was the perfect way to end their romantic wedding day, and certainly a way to create brand new memories that not many people get to make on their wedding day.
