Time for an end of year wrap up and to share some of the best elopement and micro wedding photos this season!
As I sit here reflecting on the passing of yet another year, it’s almost surreal to believe how quickly time has flown by. I’m filled with a mix of emotions as I reminisce about how impactful this wedding season was.
You see, this was my first official year in business for myself after working with Adventure Instead for the last 5 years. I’m so proud of myself for listening to that gut instinct of mine and for starting Story Maker. The initial fear in taking that leap has transformed into a deep sense of accomplishment, and I’m excited for the continued growth and storytelling adventures that lie ahead.
This season I continued to work with the most incredible couples. Each of them shared a common vision for their wedding day: an experience that authentically reflected who they are. We laughed together, shed tears of joy, and shared meaningful conversations. I watched as their eyes lit up throughout their wedding day, how they slowed down to savor their first dance. I witnessed couple just let loose because no one was watching, and when things didn’t go exactly according to plan, I watched them laugh it off and go with the flow. And I did my best to capture all of it.
*Drum roll please*
But not just any kind of photo albums. Incredibly stunning heirloom-quality albums from the very best album company I could find. Knowing that the moments from your wedding day will live in this book for generations to come, I didn’t want to sacrifice the quality. The pages are smooth, thick, and seamless. The colors are spot-on, and the quality is unmatched. I’m so proud to be able to offer these albums because I deeply believe in the importance of printing your photos. This is a way to literally put your memories in the hands of your loved ones, and to showcase your most important milestones as art in your home.
So now, when you book Story Maker Photo, you’ll receive a complimentary album design. All you have to do is the fun part of personalizing the cover with your favorite linen or leather.
I’m thrilled to have started offering 35mm film add-ons!
Film photography adds a totally different look. It also helps me slow down and artfully document moments in a totally different way than digital photography. The photos come back with an instant feel of nostalgia, and it just warms my heart to be able to blend both mediums into final galleries.
The stoke is high.
2023 couples, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for trusting me to document your elopements and micro weddings. Thank you for giving me creative freedom, so you could just enjoy yourselves on your day. And thank you for your kind reviews, interactions, and overall support.
And thank you all for being here and reading this now.
Over the last year I’ve found time for myself again. Time to oil paint, to go on adventures with friends during the Spring, Summer, AND Fall (my favorite months!), to backpack and do the things that fill my cup. I even got to do a 50 hour adventure race with my best friend, and went on to race in USARA National Championship! There is nothing that energizes me more than these life experiences. Ya know the oxygen mask analogy? I’ve found that the more I live my own life (and not just work through it), the better I can be there + serve others, the more inspired I am, and the more “me” I feel. The joy and balance I’ve prioritized this year has paid off in so many ways.
Lastly, I have some exciting news!
WE ARE MOVING.
That’s right. We are selling our cute little Estes Park cottage and are under contract for a new home…. 2 miles up the road. 🙂 I hope to share more on this adventure once everything is finalized, and I invite you follow along on Instagram.
