If you’re planning a Colorado surprise proposal for your significant other, consider hiring a local photographer to help plan and capture the moment! That’s what these two did, and it was the perfect way to commemorate one of the best days of their lives.
A few weeks prior to Elizabeth & Martin’s annual trip to Rocky Mountain National Park, Martin reached out to both Ali from Sasquatch Fly Fishing and myself. They were going to do their annual fly fishing outing, one of their very favorite activities, except this year it was going to be even more special. You see, Martin had picked out a beautiful diamond ring for Elizabeth, and on that morning at Dream Lake he planned to ask her to marry him.
That’s where Ali and I came in.
We helped scope out the most picturesque spot at Dream Lake. I hiked up ahead of them to claim the best vantage point. I spread out a picnic blanket and had my cameras hidden underneath of it.
Finally, I got the cue… It was go time.
Elizabeth was casting and completely distracted while Martin waded through the water. He climbed up on the rock, got down on one knee and took her by total surprise. As she turned around, she had the look of such surprise on her face.
Basically, we all pulled it off perfectly.
Soon after the actual surprise proposal, everyone met back up on the East shore of the lake. While the excitement was SO high, and we took advantage of those we-just-got-engaged feels and took some portraits of them. They continued to fish the lake, catching numerous fish and even two at the same time!
It was such an honor to be a part of a day they will never forget.
