Colorado is one of the most epic locations for engagement photos. Not only do we have seemingly endless mountain views, we also have so many other unique landscapes too. Not many people realize that in Colorado has sand dunes, stunning red rocks, wide open meadows and plains, and some of the highest mountains in the U.S.. Truly a little bit of everything!
Whether you’re a Colorado local, or it’s your vacation destination, it’s a stunning spot for engagement portraits.
These particular engagement photos took place in Rocky Mountain National Park near Estes Park, Colorado. We explored two different locations within the park for portraits, and did one outfit change! I also loved that Brianna rocked this hat during the session.
The beauty of a location list a National Park for photography is that you can see so much beauty within a short drive. This session began at Sprague Lake where we wandered the 1 mile loop that circles the lake.
This dock at Sprague Lake is actually a popular wedding ceremony site! Learn more about how to get Married at Sprague Lake here.
Once the sun started to sink a little lower, we moved down the road from Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park to Moraine Park.
Moraine Park is a stunning location for photography because you get wide open meadow, a beautiful stream (great for fly fishing), and amazing mountain views. Depending on the time of year, you may even get lucky and spot herds of elk here like we did! Gotta love a wildlife photo bomb in the mountains. It really adds to the experience.
