Moraine Park Surprise Proposal
This Moraine Park surprise engagement was one for the books.
When he first reached out about planning a surprise proposal in Rocky Mountain National Park, he knew he wanted two things: incredible scenery and a spot that felt private enough for the big moment.
Moraine Park ended up being the perfect fit. It’s a wide open meadow in Rocky Mountain National Park that’s popular for fishing, spotting wildlife, and is the trailhead for some favorite hikes like Fern Lake!
It’s also a great spot to hire a surprise proposal photographer for since there’s plenty of room for us photographers to remain far enough away to be discreet.
And let me tell you, she was so surprised! After an enthusiastic “yes”, we spent the next hour exploring scenic spots in Moraine Park and soaking in all the excitement.
Post-Proposal Engagement Photos
After the big moment, he had a surprise for her in the car… He pretty much packed her entire suitcase so she could do an outfit change and we could explore Moraine Park to capture engagement photos.
Here are some ways to get your partner to dress up for the occasion (when they don’t know it’s an occasion ahead of time):
- Pack outfits for them like this!
- Tell them you’re just quickly stopping somewhere to see the sunrise, watch wildlife, or enjoy a scenic overlook and then heading straight to a fancy brunch or dinner reservation.
- Break the session up into two parts so you can go back to your lodging and change in between.
And honestly? Don’t stress about it too much! It’s certainly not worth ruining the surprise over. Some of my favorite proposal photos have been taken of couples in their hiking attire in RMNP. It’s the excitement, emotion, and significance of the moment that matters most.
