Sapphire Point Overlook is a beloved wedding ceremony spot in Summit County, near Dillon and Breckenridge. This scenic overlook offers breathtaking mountain views and is a favorite for couples looking for an intimate, unforgettable ceremony.
For their winter elopement, these two chose Sapphire Point for their elopement ceremony, and we also explored some nearby locations to capture even more stunning mountain photos.
Check out their gorgeous winter wedding photos, and learn how to plan your own Sapphire Point Overlook wedding below!

Reservations for this wedding ceremony site can be booked through Recreation.gov for $120, plus an $8 processing fee.
There is a 30 person max group size for this location, but I personally feel it’s best fit for smaller groups or elopements.
All Sapphire Point Overlook wedding reservations are for a 3 hour time slot, and are available any day of the week/year. The time slots are as followed:
It’s important to note that this wedding site is in high demand! Especially during the summer season. For the best chance of privacy at this location, aim for a sunrise time slot and/or choose an off-season month like these two did!

One of the most important things to keep in mind when you’re having a winter wedding in Colorado is staying warm! When I’m planning with couples, we typically like to come up with a few different scenic locations to visit throughout the wedding day to not only add variety, but to really tell a beautiful story too.
And the best part?
When you’re traveling from location to location, you get to warm up in the car! It honestly works out perfectly.

This couple began their photography coverage at their Airbnb! Taking time to get ready separately so that we could do a first look on Loveland Pass! Here I was able to capture important wedding details for their day like reading letters from family and friends back home, and putting the final touches on their wedding vows as well.
“Getting ready photos” certainly help set scene for a wedding day and will help you warm up to the camera in a really natural feeling way.

Alright, this day was snowy! Normally views are not so obstructed, but hey, it’s Colorado in the winter!

The snow continued to fall across this mountain reservoir. Clinton Gulch is a great spot for portraits and some light, easy hiking! I especially love this location for photos because there are views the entire way––from the parking lot all the way around the lake.

After a day of adventuring, Vintage in Vail Village was the perfect place to meet up with friends, share a meal together, and sign their marriage license. The winter lights around Vail Village also make the perfect backdrop for romantic photos, especially at dusk!
