This surprise proposal at Dream Lake was certainly one for the books on a crisp November morning. Not only did we pull off this moment so flawlessly, but the beautiful morning light made it even more magical!
What started as a quiet, intimate proposal on the frosty shores of Dream Lake became a full-blown, cozy engagement session once the ring was on. Little did she know, there was even a second outfit tucked into his backpack for an outfit change for engagement photos!
The pure joy, excitement, and utter shock were absolutely priceless. And that’s one of the most fulfilling parts of working with couples to pull off a surprise like this: making sure it all comes together beautifully.

Dream Lake is a popular hike and photo spot, but for very good reason! Not only is it incredibly picturesque at the lake, but it’s also only a 2 mile roundtrip hike with views along the entire trail. You can also make this a longer hike by adding in Emerald Lake, Lake Haiyaha, Mills Lake, or more!

After popping the question, there was one more surprise! He had secretly packed an outfit change for her! A beautiful red dress (her favorite!), and stunning necklace. They changed into their second outfits and we captured engagement photos alongside of the frozen lake and along the hike down.
